Profile

USFWS maintains a network of public lands totaling upwards of 150 million acres split into eight geographic regions and nearly 700 field stations.



We are seeking a Java Developer Intermediate level to help support the efforts of the USFWS-Refuges.



Responsibilities:



Responsible for developing, testing, implementing and maintaining web-based application systems.
Troubleshoots system problems and issues and looks for ways to improve the application.
Performs routine programming assignments that do not require domain knowledge or experience but do require knowledge of established programming procedures and data processing requirements.
Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
Work directly with senior Team Lead to receive work assignments.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:



JEE programming skills (JSP/Java, with Groovy experience preferred)
Experience with Web Frameworks (Grails, Spring, Struts preferred)
Experience with Object Relational Mapping frameworks (Hibernate, JPA, GORM preferred)
Experience with Relational Databases
Experience with Drupal
Experience with client side interactivity and design using Javascript, XHTML or HTML5, and CSS (JQuery or Twitter Bootstrap preferred)
Experience with Apache Tomcat
Experience with Linux operating systems preferred
Some experience with cloud-based technologies (Amazon AWS preferred)
Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
Four years full time Java development experience in an increasingly responsible position.
Knowledge of Java, Groovy, Grails, Web Applications, Ajax, JavaScript, JQuery, Bootstrap
BS degree in Computer Science ore related curriculum or equivalent.
