As a Senior J2EE Integration Engineer and member of the Serco software development team, you will share responsibility for the design, development, automated tests and delivery of the company's core technologies. Have a passion for solving problems while delivering reliable, highly scalable, highly performing systems that Serco's customers use on a daily basis. You will develops and maintain Java modules of larger integrated solutions for Serco's application platform and tools. You will participate in daily standups, code reviews, task estimation, unit testing, continuous integration, short bursts of delivery. You will work with the team and other stakeholders to understand and capture project requirements.
You will work with the Tech Lead and Architect to balance project delivery requirements with operational issues. You will continuously improve, refine and refactor the code base. You are required to have a solid foundation in the basics of software development including object-oriented design/development, debugging, unit testing, and continuous integration.
Work with the team to improve the scalability and performance of existing applications. Be a role model and technical mentor to the junior and mid-level developers, working alongside of highly collaborative, open minded, technology savvy members.
Conduct Code Reviews for Junior Team Members. Lead small teams of developers. Keep knowledge current on industry development trends and best practices
